The Aube's in Mal Pais

Nice To Meet You

Evan

The person behind the camera(s).

As the family (And professional) photographer and videographer, it’s pretty difficult to find me in pictures, but my real joy comes from documenting our journey and seeing the expressions on the faces of others.

I always have at least two cameras with me to capture the moments that make our lives so special. Whether we’re hiking to a waterfall, swimming in the surf, spotting two- and three-fingered sloths or helping baby sea turtles get to their new home, I take great pride in capturing the images that we’ll look back on for the rest of our lives.

I work remotely as the Director of Sales Operations for a major disrupter in the home improvement lead generation space through the week, and love exploring with Mandy and Emerson on the weekends, and of course documenting it along the way.

I was bitten by the travel bug long ago, and it took some bold steps to get back to my adventurous roots again. The stars aligned, opportunity knocked and we opened the door!

I have really embraced a more minimal lifestyle, collecting memories rather than things, and I wasn’t completely onboard with Evan’s idea to travel carry-on only, but once I got into it I had fun finding a way to make it work as you may have seen in my packing video.

Evan would say that I am the glue that holds this crazy road show together, and I’m very happy that he loves my ability to replicate the local cuisine. Though it’s definitely a challenge to entertain a toddler while preparing the family meals, seeing a new world through the eyes of a toddler has been an amazing, mind-blowing and life changing experience.

Emerson

I am a fearless soul who loves snuggles, snacks, fishing, riding my bike and doing everything myself.

I’m excited for our family adventures, especially getting to fly, and even though leaving my grandparents for 6 months is going to be tough, I know they’re just as excited for this opportunity as my parents and I are.

Seeing the world from 4 feet off the ground is a challenge sometimes, but it also has its advantages.

I get to see a lot of things that bigger people walk past, and I love stopping to show my parents  all of the stuff they miss.

I also love picking flowers for my mom, hunting seashells on the beach, riding on the ATV and making new friends.
